Welcome to One Active Lifestyle

We are a family with 2 teenage boys and a semi active dog. We enjoy spending our spare time running, cycling, swimming, hiking and generally being as active as possible.

We participate in races from 5km Park Runs all the way up to Ironman triathlons, and enjoy weekend breaks abroad to compete in races and enoy some sightseeing

We love to stay active and healthy and really hope we can inspire a few people to get out and be more active and enjoy their own journey.


Recipies

Nothing here is a recommendation. I am not an expert or a coach and have no nutrition or fitness qualifications. this gear is simply stuff I like and use often.

  • Peanut Butter cups, can't make these fast enough!

  • Hazlenut Butter Dates, very popular snack all round!

Peanut Butter Cups

ingredients:
30g Oats
20g ground almonds
8g Cocoa
180g Peanut Butter
15g Honey
135g Dark Chocolate

method:
1) Crush the Rich Tea buscuits and mix with the 8g cocoa, 15g peanut butter, 15g honey and a splash of almond milk
2) Press the mix evenly in to 12 cupcake cases
3) Spread over 10g peanut Butter per cup
4) Melt the 135g dark chocolate and pour over the 12 cases
5) Top with 125 chopped peanuts
6) Refridgerate to set

My Nutrition

These are the nutrition products I use for training and racing

  • TORQ Energy Gel Rhubarb & Custard are my gels of choice for long runs. I take 3 per hour when racing and 2 per hour when slower pace long training runs.
  • I use the High 5 Energy Drink on my long bikes. 1 x 750ml bike bottle per hour.
  • Saltstick Fast Chews are my go to on hot days to stop my legs cramping on long rides and runs.

I am not sponsored (I wish!), and I am not an expert or a coach. This training gear is what I use day to day and have been very happy with (have bought each many times as I have been very impressed)

  • Decathlons Trail Running Shorts
  • I have tried many different runners but these have always been the most comfortable.
