These are a great bar for training or carb loading before a big race.

Shop bought gels and bars are very expensive to use for all training sessions. I use a mixture of these with an energy source drink to fuel my longer training sessions.

All of my family use these and they are great for eating as you head out the door for your run, no upset stomach issues which is great.

Instructions

  1. Line a baking dish with parchment paper
  2. Add the 50g butter to a large saucepan and melt over a low heat.
  3. Add the 300g marshmallows to the saucepan and melt together with the butter, stiring regularly to avoid any burning. If using large marshmallows cut into smaller pieces so they melt quicker.

  5. Once fully combined pour into the backing dish and push down firmly with the spatula.
  6. Store in the fridge for around 30 minutes to harden, then remove and cut into approx 15 squares.
